Happy 2010!! - My New Years Resolution

Haven't posted in quite awhile. Lately I have been puppy sitting Rosie's brother, Max. He has been with us two weeks today and we have really enjoyed having him. Rosie is going to be so lost without him when he goes home. We're going to miss him too. We love you Maxie Poo.

It was so funny just now. Max and Rosie are sitting beside me looking out the window the way they always do when I'm on the computer. This big black dog appeared in our yard and Max and Rosie started barking like crazy. The big dog tucked his tail between his legs and took off across the street and up the hill. These two funny little Shih Tzus started strutting around like they were so proud of themselves for running the big dog away. Now they're sitting guard at the window just waiting for him to have the nerve to come back ;-)

On to another subject. Went to church this morning. Wonderful sermon. With the beginning of a new year, today's message was about leaving the past and looking ahead to the future. The preacher really hit home for me when he said that satan works really hard to make you remember all of your failures. Man has he been working on me for the past few months! And sometimes I can be my own worst enemy because I really beat myself up when I think of all the things I have done wrong. No one else brings them up and no one else criticizes me for them, just me. Or maybe like the preacher said, old satan is hard at work. I don't usually make New Years Resolutions but this year I am going to resolve to be more aware of negative thoughts and remind myslef to think more positively. I'm not going to allow myself to hold onto past mistakes  for more than a few minutes. When they come into my mind I will immediately replace them with good intentions for the future. Paul said in Philippians 3:13 "But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead."  And Isaiah 43:18 "Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old." That is my resolution for 2010.

After church Jay and I went to the Trussville Antique Mall for lunch. They have a good buffet of homestyle foods. Just what we were hungry for. Afterward we walked around the mall and I bought a vintage black (faux) fur coat. Love It!!!!! Now I have to spend the rest of the day processing pictures. Check back tomorrow for some photos of The Martins.
